Thrown and trimmed on the wheel using stoneware clay.
These opportunistic vessels have been part of a pattern making process I explored using the sgraffito technique, where each piece has had a layer of black slip painted around the base and then been carved into.This design being inspired by the contours found in maps
A fluid lagoon blue glaze coats the inside and top half opening its use to hold anything you choose...beverages, pens paintbrushes! However the slipped exterior of this piece is finished to showcase a more tactile experience with a matt textured surface.

Approx height - 8.5cm
Approx rim diameter - 7cm
Holds approx - 250ml
Each item is individually handmade meaning that there will be varying qualities in each piece; from how the colours interact, height and roundness. Making them unique and distinctive from one to another.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
Please note that whilst this item can tolerate the dishwasher I would advise hand washing to maintain its longevity.
Ceramic items are vulnerable to thermal shock which can cause cracking, please take caution when using with hot and cold appliances or liquids.
